Getting Started Guide
6.
On the install client, start the installation from an install floppy dis-
kette (described in Chapter 2).
The client should detect the install server and the source using DHCP. The
installation should continue as described in Chapter 3.
Using the Lizard Unattended Install
While an Install server makes it convenient to access the packages needed to
install OpenLinux, a Lizard Unattended Install can add the convenience of pre-
setting configuration options so that installation doesn’t require you to sit there
and answer questions. It does this by allowing you to set up rules files that are
used during installation.
Lizard Unattended Install from a Server
You can use the Lizard Unattended Install from an Install server (described just
before this section). Once an Install server is configured, follow this procedure:
1.
From the Install server, create a lizard directory that is parallel to
your CD-ROM source directories you created.
For example, if you added source to /install/cd1, you need to create a
directory called /install/lizard.
2.
Create a directory structure under the lizard directory that contains
at least the following:
lizard/rules
lizard/profile
lizard/etc/XF86Config
lizard/etc/pkgs.sel
lizard/bin/finish.sh
lizard/bin/start.sh
lizard/bin/instpkg
3.
Create a rules file. Here is an example of a rules file entry that defines
the default used for network 192.168.19:
network 192.168.19 start.sh profile XF86Config pkgs.sel finish.sh
